Google might finally be adding a Photos folder in Drive

Google Drive photos

Ever since Google rebranded Picasa as Google+ Photos, and combined photo storage space with that offered in Drive, I’ve been wondering why it hasn’t been possible to view your photos in Google Drive itself. After all, Google lets you view photos that you have saved to drive in the Google+ Photos interface, so why not do the opposite and let you view your Google+ Photos in Drive?

If the latest screenshots of one user posted over on Reddit are to be believed, Google may be getting ready to do just that. While no one else other than this one, single Reddit user has been able to confirm seeing this in their Drive accounts, it’s possible that this could be the beginning of a staged rollout.

To check if this is available for your account, go to Google Drive on the web and navigate to Settings > General to see if you have the “Create a Google Photos folder” option available.

Please, oh please, let this not be a fake.
