HTC has already confirmed that it plans to announce the successor to the HTC One M8 – probably the HTC One M9 – on March 1 during Mobile World Congress. What we don’t have is an official specs sheet.

However, we do have a leaked wallpaper that will apparently be available on the device at launch, courtesy of @LlabTooFeR and AndroidSPIN. The dimensions come in right at 2160×1920, which means that most likely the HTC One M9 will have a 1080p display.

Rumors also point to a new Snapdragon 810 processor, a 20MP+ back camera, and UltraPixel front-facing camera, and more.

As previously reported on Pocketables, there is also speculation that HTC will announce a new smartwatch on March 1 to go along with the new phone. And it might not even run Android Wear, opting instead for a new HTC OS that is called RTOS.

In any case, were you hoping for something a bit higher than 1080p – even though most eyes probably won’t know the difference?
