Lollipop update for the HTC One M8 on Verizon delayed until next month

While Sprint and T-Mobile customers who own the HTC One M8 have already gotten the much-anticipated Android Lollipop upgrade, Verizon customers have to wait a bit longer. According to HTC product manager Mo Versi on Twitter, Verizon already has the Lollipop update in its hands, but it hasn’t approved it yet – and it likely won’t until early March.

Verizon is known for its rather lengthy approval process, which has caused delays even on Google’s own Nexus devices. HTC also revealed earlier this month that because of buggy software, it would miss its self-imposed 90-day deadline in spite of its “HTC Advantage” promise.

Although no specific date was given for the software update on Verizon, at least it’s in the horizon and should be coming soon. Meanwhile, I’ll be patiently waiting for Android 5.1 to show up on my Nexus 6.
