HTC BlinkFeed available for all rooted users

HTC BlinkfeedXDA member xpirt released flashable versions of HTC Blinkfeed and some of the HTC Sense 7 (and 6,) items including the Weather and WorldClock items.

While it doesn’t appear that it’s the entire HTC Sense package, for those who have come to love Blinkfeed and the look of Sense it’s available in several individually downloadable items.

You’ll need to be rooted in order to install as these are flashable items. I’m not near a non-HTC Sense Android at the moment to test these, but it appears to include support for the Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Google+ plugins, which will allow you to devote a page in your launcher to social media.

I think you either love Blinkfeed or you ignore it. I’m more into the ignoring of it as I tend to do my social media-ing on a computer these days. But it’s really nice that it’s no longer tied to any particular hardware and anyone in the root world can get a chance to play with it.

It would be nice if HTC would actually release the product for free on Google Play. I’d say the good will would do wonders for their advertising.

As this is a collection of root flashables, make sure to make a nandroid before going headlong into this in case something doesn’t play well with your particular system.

If you do flash it, let us know how it worked out for you and what you’re running it on. Sadly my non-HTC devices are on the other side of town at the moment.
