HTC will release an update for the HTC One M9’s faulty camera very soon

HTC One M9In spite of the fact that the camera on the newly-released HTC One M9 packs 20MP, it’s gotten a lot of criticism – many users and reviewers say that the camera software is just not up to par with the rest of the phone.

Luckily, HTC is aware of the problem and is preparing to release a software update to fix the camera issues. The update is currently in testing and should be ready in just a few days – according to Phandroid, here’s the update status per carrier:

  • AT&T and T-Mobile: The update is in final testing, and is expected to roll out in a week’s time.
  • Sprint: The update is ready to go and will roll out beginning tomorrow.
  • Verizon: The upgrade will be pre-loaded on Verizon’s devices when they go on sale tomorrow.

We’ll keep our eyes on this and let you know when the update is ready. In the meantime, what has your experience with the M9’s camera been like?
