Google Nexus 4 by LG finally gets updated to Android 5.1

nexus-4-hardware6-608x456If you’ve got a Google Nexus 4 by LG, and you been waiting patiently (or not so patiently) for Android 5.1, your days of waiting are over: Google has started rolling out Android 5.1 right now, build LMY47O. The update weighs in at 174MB, and should include a hefty dosage of bug fixes and new features.

For whatever reason, Google took forever to get around to this, and some newer Nexus devices are still waiting around for the update, including the 2013 Nexus 7 by ASUS (both the WiFi and LTE versions), and the Nexus 9 by HTC (all versions).

In the case of the Nexus 9, speculation is that Google had some issues with the 64-bit processor, and it’s likely that Google will just jump straight to Android 5.1.1 in the coming days or weeks. As for the Nexus 7 … well, I don’t really have an answer for that one.

In any case, if you’re still clinging onto your Nexus 4, hit that update button and enjoy all the goodies that Android 5.1 will bring!
