HTC continues down the path of profitability in Q1 2015

After many quarters of losses mounted up for Taiwanese tech company HTC in the past few years, it finally seems like the tide is turning. According to a report from Reuters, HTC’s preliminary Q1 2015 earnings report shows a net profitability of NT 360 million (around $11.6 million). This is a big change from the company’s previous net loss of NT 1.88 billion (about $60 million) just one year ago.

Additional good news in HTC’s numbers include unaudited revenue of NT 41.52 billion (approximately $1.3 billion), which is up from NT 33.12 billion (around $1.06 billion) over the same period one year ago. This isn’t quite as good as Q4 2014, but these numbers are still excellent – especially when considering the boost that holiday sales typically bring.

This is the second quarter in a row that HTC has posted a profit. It will certainly be interesting to see if the company can keep the momentum going with the HTC One M9, along with its foray into other areas, like the RE camera.
