Sunshine 3.1 supports S-OFF for HTC One M9 and SIM unlock of most HTC GSM phones

One of the first things that most tinkerers do when they get a new smartphone is root it – and if you’re an HTC fan, that often involves gaining S-OFF. And if you’re the lucky owner of a brand new HTC One M9, Sunshine was just updated to 3.1 to allow S-OFF on all models of this device, except for the Verizon model (because Verizon). And as an added bonus, Sunshine 3.1 will also SIM unlock practically any GSM HTC phone currently available, allowing you to take it to practically any carrier in the world (except, of course, Verizon – because Verizon).

Users will still need to visit HTCDev first to unlock their bootloader, and then run Sunshine’s S-OFF function after that. And it does still cost $25.
