Deal alert: Discounted Chromecasts and free movie rentals are available now from Google

Chromecast 2nd Bday

Google is celebrating the Chromecast’s second birthday today by giving away a free movie rental from Google Play to anyone who has a Chromecast – and according to some reports, to anyone who has an Android TV device, as well.

To redeem this offer, make sure your Chromecast is powered on., and then visit this site on any mobile device that has the Chromecast app installed, or on any desktop or laptop that has the Chromecast extension installed. You’ll also need to make sure you are connected to the same network that your Chromecast is.

Android Police has also discovered that people who put two Chromecasts in their carts in the Google Store will get $15 off a checkout – this brings them down to $55/each, plus tax and shipping.

Personally, I’ve got a Chromecast plugged into every TV in my house, and I love it. If you don’t, this is a good chance to do the same thing as me at a good price.
