MetroPCS announces Mexico Unlimited, free through December 2015

Mexico Unlimited MetroPCS

In the wake of its parent company announcing Mobile Without Borders late last week, T-Mobile’s wholly owned MetroPCS brand is announcing a similar offer for its own customers, with a few differences.

The prepaid carrier will now offer a new Mexico Unlimited plan add-on, which lets customers use their phones in Mexico just like they would at home. In other words, it’s just like Mobile Without Borders, except only for Mexico – a smart move, since MetroPCS has been quite popular among Hispanic and Latino/Latina customers. The add-on is available to customers with a base plan that’s at least $40 per month, and will provide unlimited calling and texting to Mexico from the US.

While you’re in Mexico, you’ll also get unlimited calling and texting to the US, and high speed data that pulls from your regular monthly allotment.

The plan add-on is free until 2016, at which time it will start costing customers $5/month.
