Promo offers Sprint customers up to $100 to use Samsung Pay
Ubergizmo is reporting that Sprint and Samsung are teaming up to offer you up to $100 back for simply starting using Samsung Pay.
To qualify you have to purchase a qualifying Samsung device between noon Eastern time today (May 13th, 2016) but before July 7th, 2016. Qualifying devices are listed as “Sprint-only version of the Samsung Galaxy S6, Note 5, S7, or S7 Edge” on the website.
Following the purchase you need to use Samsung Pay between May 13th, 2016 at 12:01PM Eastern Standard Time and July 31st, 2016 at 11:59:59PM.
At this point you have a transaction to reward benefit going on. It’s as follows:
- Three qualifying Samsung Pay transactions = choose a $20 gift card from five select Samsung Pay merchants – Nike, Whole Foods, overstock.com, Toys R Us, or Gap Options
- Five qualifying Samsung Pay transactions = additional $30 gift card from above merchants
- Ten qualifying Samsung pay transactions will net you a $50 gift card
Only one qualifying transaction per 30 minutes is accepted, and gift cards are subject to availability which means if you don’t become one of the first people to complete your transactions you could be screwed out of the rewards. The TaC says that:
No more than 30,000 gift cards will be distributed for first three Qualifying Transactions; no more than 15,000 gift cards for five total Qualifying Transactions and no more than 5,000 for ten total Qualifying Transactions. These amounts are subject to availability and customer claim rate per tier and the caps may change.
It appears that if more than five thousand people go for this offer and make the 10 purchases chances are you’re not going to get that $100. If that offer isn’t taken out by eleven PM tonight by 5000 people hitting up a small purchase every 30 minutes I’ll be surprised.
You can see complete details of the offer here.
The UberGizmo article here says it’s Sprint giving away the gift cards, but I think if I’m reading this correctly it’s Samsung giving them away to Sprint customers. That said, I had to wade through the contract to find this and only figured it out because there’s nothing on the Sprint Newsroom regarding this promo as of this writing.
Thanks to Bill Van for sending this in!
