HTC 10 day 40: crap, I have nothing bad to say

HTC 10 from @evleaksOn the release of the HTC 10 I had problems with the camera. These were mostly addressed by a firmware and camera update that came along a week or two after and by the last firmware update I got the phone is actually what I wanted.

Battery life for what I do is not particularly great, however I’m moving on average 20 gigs over WiFi a day so I’m not a particularly average end user. I’ve got to charge it once during an average day of use, but the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 gets me topped off or at least usable for the rest of the night within 20-30 minutes.

Log Light Frog
Low Light Frog – not blurry and pixelated IRL

Pictures are great, low light photography is acceptable – probably the best I’ve seen outside of the M8. It’s not as good as the M8’s ultrapixel, but for average use seems fine.

Speakers also not as good as the M8, but the headphone jack sound is superb.

The only issue I have at the moment is Sprint’s network/firmware still doesn’t allow you to be on a call and use data. This is annoying as I’ve had to multiple times tell someone I’d call them back when I needed to grab some info online and was not near a WiFi hotspot.

Oh, I’ve tried to hate the phone. Really I have. I mean I tried to get indignant about the removal of the IR blaster, but really I used it in one location and there’re plenty of workarounds.

Call quality of course depends on who you’re talking to, but the mics on the phone seem to be good.

I’m not particularly a fan of Sense, but one launcher download later I can be running what I like without too much hassle.

HTC seems to have made a phone that I don’t have issues with and that’s causing me issues. I’ve thrown everything at it I can since it showed up and it’s taken it. Maybe I’ve got to up my throw game though.

What do you think? Best phone you ever had? Returned it? Hate it with a passion?
