The problem seems to lay in that they promoted Comcast as their initial ISP partner, and if you’ve ever been with Comcast you know it’s most likely because you had to be with Comcast.
After a year of their customers blowing through data caps and subsequently being charged overage fees, and a year of, well, being associated with Comcast, Amazon made the wise choice and quit.
Amazon had managed to offer Frontier Internet to the Amazon Cable Store later on in the run, but judging by the top 3,039 1-star complaints on Consumer Affairs here, and an F rating on the Better Business Bureau, I’m guessing there wasn’t much of a chance of winning here.
Come on Google Fiber, get it together. The bar is set so low for ISPs these days you could basically almost reach Comcast levels before anyone would be annoyed.
Amazon does not officially claim the store is dead according to TVPreditions, just that it’s doing something else in other areas. Innovating. Invigorating. Something not dealing with some of the worst rated ISPs on the planet.
