The story goes…
This was apparently a loss leader at $99 that was meant to bring people in on Black Friday 2016 but was “accidentally” left off the BF ad entirely.
1GB is a bit light at this point; but that’s what the B&N Nook and 7″ Amazon Fire (Ford) ship with as well; and 1280 x 800 isn’t amazing for 10.1″; but heck, at $79 it sure isn’t a bad system.
The system of course got [ROOT] in no time thanks to all the system hackers over at XDA.
There is a Full Lineage OS port (GApps not included) for it too (again thanks XDA).
The dev, in true Open Source fashion even has all the code up on Github:

So feel free to hack away.
It’s not likely to be your primary system, but for a project, a kid, the car/minivan/Tahoe, or like I have done with my Fire Ford; throw a 128GB card in it, fire up Plex/UPnP, and you have a battery backed streaming server plus viewing console in one!
This is a link to the device on Brickseek:

Drop your zip code in and it will let you know price and availability; around me they are mostly $79, with a couple of stores at $70, and two sold out at $50!
It’s also going in and out of stock on Amazon at the $79 price point; check CamelCamelCamel for history.
You can also get it direct Walmart.com for $86.92 with free shipping in a couple days time and same your time in driving there and finding an employee to locate the device.
