Blow away zombies, defend your people with Zombie Gunship Survival

Zombie Gunship SurvivalZombie Gunship Survival puts you in a heavily armed, airborne, ground support role. Set aboard a flying gunship, you’re in charge of keeping your ground crew alive as they scavenge for supplies and attempt to not be overrun by a never-ending hoard of zombies.

I’ve been playing a prerelease version of this game, which is where the screenshots and such come from, and so far it’s been remarkably fun mowing down the undead from my sky tank. The release version drops today at 1pm PT which is when this goes live, so there may be some changes.

Zombie Gunship Survival

I’m not particularly far into the game, just reached level 5 / sixth area, in part due to time and in part due to just having fun playing the levels over and over again coming up with new ways to rain down death for longer periods of time, in part also due to wanting to have the sound on.

The setup appears to be that you can progress as far as you want without paying anything, but pay and get gold which can be used for this that or the other to advance your current quest.

I’m currently running with two maxed out one star machine guns and maxed out ground weaponry and will be grinding for a while to get things better, but there doesn’t appear, at least not yet, to be a pay barrier.

But if you’re looking for a game that requires a little skill in planning and aiming and raining down bullets but can be played by people who can’t play FPS games on a tiny screen (eg: me) this may be for you. The hardest thing I’ve had to learn thus far involves proper thumb placement for the multiple weapons, the rest just works like it should.

Some nice things about this game include that the ground crew is not helpless. They can fend off a reasonable number of the undead by themselves. Also random sniper towers can be used as help as they shoot at anything that moves (including your crew if you don’t destroy the tower before they get close).

It’s fun. You’ll like it, or you won’t and it cost you nothing. It’s been a week and change of fun for me.

When it releases, you can get Zombie Gunship Survival at Google Play, and probably on iOS as well.
