With one touch make ready defeated in Nashville, monopolies leave things hanging

Submitted without much comment – First picture – underground Google Fiber hub is a couple of blocks over. This is part of the new condition of their competitor’s lines that can only be moved by the competitor now that One Touch Make Ready was defeated in most markets.

My belief is the cable company doesn’t want Google in, and isn’t playing remotely fair.

That would be two 3.5′ tall spools of wiring hanging in the air.

Down a block where Fiber might be able to work around we have this still (at month 4)

And my street (not pictured,) which has a Fiber hub at the end of it, suddenly got some upgrades leaving wiring hanging down about 4 feet.

I can’t really say what’s going on in other Google Fiber markets as I’m not there seeing the random roadblocks being thrown up, but at this point, if you’re still waiting on Fiber I think you’re going to be waiting a lot longer. Nashville’s suddenly home to a slew of messy wiring.

Fiber is coming, but it’s one pole at a time. The monopolies can afford a few slaps on the wrist for not getting their equipment moved within the X number of days they have to do it.
