Uber partnering with transit agencies to promote public transportation as well

Uber logo, outdated as of publishing time

If you’ve Ubered then you know the traditional model: Hail a ride, get to location, engage in small talk along the way about how they became an Uber driver, hear how they work for Lyft during rush hours and keep two phones just so neither app knows they’re working for the other, and scene.

Well now if you’re going somewhere a real time map showing buses, trains, and what other public transportation is going to be available for you. Not only that, but you can purchase tickets to ride right from the app and skip pulling out 250 pennies to count out one by one as everyone on the city bus wishes you were dead.

It’s rolling out in Denver first so most of the country is going to have a ways to go. The app appears to break it up into first mile, trip, last mile so you’re not left at a central city hub with no ideas as to what to do.
