Google Play Music gets odd on Google Home

Last night I was having issues getting a Google Home Mini to play music it’s played before through Google Play Music. Not a huge deal, but when trying to get a bedtime song that the 3yo loves you tend to notice it.

She wanted the song today, it plays in German. OK, no big whoop, I asked it to play on Spotify which I have a trial of and bam, worked. She wanted to hear “Let It Go” which I’m fine with it not playing, but it’s playing the mixtape version. Eh, ok, that’s new.

And according to Android Authority, today Google Play Music cannot play 2019 items. If certain songs are in a playlist it’s also stopping the playlist as opposed to going to the next one.

Probably a licensing issue, Google knows about it and hopefully will have it solved shortly.
