Another software update for the Sprint Note 8 drops, seems to mitigate battery drain

Ever since Android Pie was smashed in our faces, many with the Note 8 (myself included,) have suffered with LTE problems, data problems, and after the patches to attempt to fix those, battery problems.

2019 06 03 18.32.47 - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

I’ve been going through roughly three times the battery I’d been going through the past few months (two and a half full charges worth a day,) and now that I’m at day two on the update I’m seeing that it’s going to be a little over one full charge before it’s dead.

I have been using the phone quite a bit more lately since becoming a candidate for Metro Council in Nashville, but not that much…

Some of the lag appears to be gone as well, but I don’t have a particularly good way to judge lag. It’s also been a good 18 hours since I had a random Bluetooth or WiFi disconnect. We’ll see.

If you haven’t been offered the patch yet, go to settings, system updates, download and install, and it should appear there.

Then again, as with the last couple of patches you might want to hold off for a few weeks until everyone else has been the guinea pig.
