Bitcoin wallet extension stealing your passwords (obviously)

An Ethereum wallet extension for Chrome launched on December 9th is evidently taking user data (private keys, wallet info) and shipping it off to a third party who could, and probably will, use it.

The extension is called Shitcoin Wallet, installed over 600 times, and the way it worked without you knowing what was going on was by injecting javascript into several popular crypto platforms that copied info.

Then again, what do you expect from an extension called Shitcoin Wallet?

The extension was up a few hours ago, but has since been removed from your friendly neighborhood extension store.

There is speculation that a third party managed to infiltrate the extension, but that would involve some sophistication.

Anyway, if you’re one of the 600+ people known to have installed it, yikes!
