Sprint rolls out T-Mobile’s free call screener

Sprint just tweeted out that the free call screening T-Mobile announced last week is now available, although in a Sprint-packaged format that attempts to sell you something.

The landing page there, at least for Android tells you to open the Sprint Call Screener app which is preinstalled. It’s just called “Call Screener”, not Sprint Call Screener.

I tried setting this up twice and was given a vague error about unable to reach the service so my bet is today is going to be rough to get on it.

You’re initially hit with a Call Screener Plus ad, and saying no thanks you’re hit up again to subscribe for a couple of bucks a month, but there’s a basic option that covers you for free.

Upon selecting to turn on call screening basic you’re going to lose your phone to service updates for a couple of minutes so make sure you’re not needing it.
