Up your lighting game with the Sandmarc Prolight Bi-Color Edition

If you’ve ever done any product photography or professional video, you’ve probably run into the requirements of a lighting setup and plenty of space, and if you’re like me you find you have neither because two tiny humans have taken over every square inch of your property.

The Sandmarc Bi-Color Edition is a portable lighting source that packs a 3000mAh battery and lets you adjust lighting temperatures between 3000K and 6500K with a smart knob/adjuster at up to 1500 Lux. It also fits right into your pocket for easy travel gear, and can be held wherever you need it for the perfect lighting situation.

The Sandmarc Prolight Bi-Color weighs less than most phones, so bringing it along with your gear isn’t particularly cumbersome, and the 3000mAh battery can last for about an hour and a half at full intensity so, at least for the lighting requirements I have it works well. It can also be charged with any USB source (USB-C connector,) so if you’re using this in the wild you can solar power your lights later in the night if you’ve got a panel.

I’ve reviewed a similar less expensive but wired product before, and I can say this is significantly more pocketable, portable, and a little cooler overall, although it’s also about 4x the price. So if your shots are not going to be more than 6 feet away from a wall outlet this might be a bit of overkill for you.

The portability of the thing and being able to operate with no wires though ended up having this come along with us on a camping trip this past weekend and got some use on a trail (well lit, but horrible photo missing).

The Sandmarc Prolight Bi-Color can screw into their film rigs and poles with an included screw. It does not seem to want to mount with the equipment I’ve got, but I don’t have a lot of pro tripod / camera gear since someone liberated it from my car a few years back.

I’d say hopefully look to my product photography in the future to see how well this works, it was used in the GoCube review so far (lighting in the middle of the night in a room with horrid lighting)
