US Customs and Border Protection really goofed

Imagine there’s a box that says 1+ Ear Buds, they look vaguely like Apple Airpod Earbuds, but so do several thousand different products these days – they’re an earbud that go in your ear. This happened Friday but I’ve been in a dark skies no cell area since then and it’s news to me.

Now imagine you’re a US Customs and Border Protection officer who doesn’t know the brand OnePlus, doesn’t know the cost of Airpods, doesn’t know what you’ve done is actually not a legal seizure, and you want a pat on the back for it. Here’s the CPB press release.

So yeah, expect your OnePlus buds to be delayed until the CPB releases them. Maybe someone can send them a list of the most popular phone manufacturers in the world so they can figure out who OnePlus is (currently #5).

While the seizure was probably a mistake, you’d think they’d catch that before they issued a press release that made themselves look like … well, like they look right now. Maybe googled “oneplus buds” just to see what these were… I don’t know.
