Just in case you’re not aware in the US, it’s evidently ok for a hedge fund to game the system with short sells, but when hundreds of thousands of individual investors, the markets will freeze, or cancel your sell orders without notifying you.
The hedge fund that was the target of this last particular attempt claimed to have closed out positions yesterday (although there’s some debate as to whether they did, or whether they just said they did to drive stock prices down.) Everyone who helped drive the price of stock up is finding out today that the markets have spoken, no profit, ability to sell or get out, or anything for you.
