CD Projekt, Cyberpunk 2077 developers victim of targeted ransomware attack

CD Projekt, the developers of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, got targeted hacked and encrypted. The hackers left a note that specified they had the source code to Cyberpunk 2077, Witcher 3, and Gwent as well as an unreleased version of Witcher 3. They also had all documents and presumably emails as well.

The demands are something (probably money,) or the documents go to gaming journalism sites.

A statement and the screenshot of the demand note was posted on the CD PROJEKT RED Twitter account a few hours ago.

With the source code to Cyberpunk 2077 out there there exists the very real possibility that hackers may fix the game. There also exists the possibility you’ll get to read about all the decisions that forced a release that was next to unplayable on many many systems.
