Because you used it, Google offing Play Movies & TV on several TV platforms
Play Movies & TV is going away June 15th, because Google. Don’t worry though as any content you have looks like it will be being pushed to the YouTube app which should be available on any smart TV where Google Play Movies & TV was available.
If you happen to use Play Movies and TV like I do, which is once a year to watch Elf, this will be done in the YouTube app in your purchases section.
Play Movies & TV is not shutting down, just the app on Roku, Samsung, LG & Vizio smart devices.
Family Library and most functionality appears to be transferring to YouTube, and it looks like YouTube is already in line for the movies and purchases to eventually disappear and be replaced by Google TV later.
So gear up for a couple of years of wondering where Elf is, and why Elf 2 hasn’t happened yet.
