If you’re an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber and part of the Insiders program, chances are that you’ve got the first crack at cloud gaming today.
Cloud gaming allows you to just jump right in and experience the majesty of being about 0.2 seconds behind everyone else, but instantly be in the game. As you might gather, my experience with cloud gaming have been less than stellar, however that’s mostly been on FPS and games like Gears: Tactics and non twitchy twitchy shooty games probably do fine.
You’ll need to be a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, a member of the Alpha Skip-Ahead or Alpha Insiders, and otherwise do something in order to get access.
It seems like this should have launched a year ago when it became apparent there was no way the next gen consoles were going to be in enough hands to crush the competition and the technology already existed, but you know, innovation never helped anyone. Or something.
That’s about it, Xbox follows Google’s Stadia, Amazon’s Luna, and I’m sure a bunch of others that I’m forgetting into the world of attempting to make overpowered hardware such as the PS5 and XBOX Series X pretty much useless.[xbox]
