Google scraps Duo / Meet merger plans

Don’t fret though, they’ll most likely spawn another service with a lot of issues and shut down the one that works.

9to5Google is reporting that the planned merger into one unified entity will not happen, which will mean Android has no direct FaceTime competitor for both business and personal, that’ll require two apps.

It’s a bit frustrating as they keep circling around the same fire… scrapping Hangouts, Chat, whatever else it was called to go all in on Duo and Meet, and then planning to off one of them… it’s like a very slow reality show.
