Google – Business, meet Maps
As you’re driving along using Google Maps to navigate have you ever felt compelled to manage your Google Business profile? Well, that’s where you’re going to be managing it from now on as Google is moving that functionality to Maps.

I mean, I get the idea behind why, but it seems like slapping in Business management code along side navigation, maps, restaurant and store reviews, user location history, COVID-19 tracking, local restaurant writeups in publications, building location data, visual accuracy positioning, internal building mapping, real time traffic processing, location sharing, social map following, photo sharing, and I’m sure I’m missing a few things, is not a great idea.
Then again, all the business code could be server based and this is simply a portal to business hell. I just start to cringe when Google Maps, a product I use nearly every day, gets features added to it that are unrelated.
I survived the Great EVO Google Maps wonkiness of I’m guessing 2015 in which I didn’t have a reliable maps app for nearly a year. Change scares me.
