FCC cracking down on your ability to be informed about a used car warranty

SMS spam - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

While we initially had another year of every small two bit telco being able to make large amounts by providing a spam base, the FCC has decided that 2023 is too far in the future to keep receiving fake notifications about used car warranties. As such the smaller carriers are getting cracked down and have to implement STIR/SHAKEN.

Originally small carriers had some breathing room, but since they decided to take telespam money they can kiss that goodbye.

The closing of the small carrier loophole by the FCC has been in effect since June 30, at one week into this I’ve only received 42 spam robocallers with spoofed numbers on my cell phone, and 86 on my work phone with 11 voicemails. So … yeah.
