How to silence your cell phone (2022/Android 12)
So it’s 2022. I haven’t been to a movie theater in a while mostly due to just not wanting to. This movie was different, I wanted to see it in the theater. I went and I thought I silenced my cell phone but you know what, I didn’t. I managed to get the ring tone down to next to nothing but medium notifications noises were popping off occasionally. Yeah, I was that jerk, although I ended up just sitting on the phone and I doubt anyone heard it.
Method these days is unlock the phone, press vol up or down, press the 3 dots on the volume slider. You should see 4 controls here. Slide the third all the way down. This should silence your cell phone.
I suggest attempting this before you’re in a movie theater and attempting to not bug people behind you. Or before you’re in court. That could be embarrassing.
I would have just shut my phone off, but my kiddos were with a friend in another theater. As such I sort of wanted to remain reachable.
Used to I swear it was just hold vol down.
