Stadia refunds start causing problems

While just giving you your money back for Stadia purchases sounds like an easy thing, it’s evidently not as people who have paid with store credits, discounts, gift cards, bank drafts, chickens, Opinion Rewards balances, etc. are finding out. Shocking, I know.

The main sticking points at this time appears that moneys through Opinion Rewards are being refunded with original expiration dates, meaning anything over a year old that “money” pops back into the account and immediately expires. Paid on a gift card? Balance might end up there. The chickens? You might just get bones back at this point if even that. Paid in some fashion that got you other things? Kiss that free lung you earned with credit goodbye.

Play Points, which were earned with purchases, are going negative with refunds. Dogs and cats living together… it’s anarchy.

Some on Reddit are suggesting you delete your Google account to force a paper money refund, but yeah… you think you’re having trouble with chicken bones now, just try proving you purchased anything without your google account to back you up.

At this point it seems it would have been just easier to let it plow forward for all involved rather than deal with Stadia refunds.
