You get a Pixel update, you get an update, and… not so fast T-Mobile / Google Fi

Heard about the January update for the Pixel series but not finding it? Chances are you’re on T-Mobile or on Google Fi which uses T-Mobile’s network.

One of those heard it through the grapevine things involves a comment that was posted and deleted about network issues specific to T-Mobile and a revised build happening. But you know, no official statements on why.

I really am starting to be amazed at how massively broken the Pixel testing and rollout is. This particular update T-Mobile is waiting for is the one that’s breaking Bluetooth and Android Auto connectivity. Just seems like these would be tested on a carrier that is about 40% of your Pixel customers before deployment.

You can read the trail of commentary and blogs at the link below, but there’s no official statements and some older Pixel devices are also affected, and have been for the past couple of months it looks like.
