44% Eufy SoloCam E40 failure rate?

For work we purchased a total of nine Eufy SoloCams to handle areas where we could not reasonably get POE wiring. These cameras are motion activated and solar powered and over the course of the last year four of them have failed.

Two of them the batteries one day refused to maintain a charge past 6-8% – they would work if plugged in but only for a short amount of time on battery before shutting off forever.

One of them just died. It had nearly 100% charge then next day it was done. I could plug it into a computer and every now and then you might hear a connection notice but nothing ever came of that.

One other I don’t recall what went wrong with it.

The first three that died were purchased in a three pack at Costco. I suspect there was probably a run of bad batteries, but this last one was Amazon and many months later.

Customer service has been good. Everything has been replaced and the replacements thus far have not fried, however that remains to be seen.

I have never run across any cameras or devices that this many fried within a year of normal use.
