BlendJet recalls 4.8 million BlendJet 2s for safety concerns

Due to some blades breaking off and batteries overheating and/or catching fire, BlendJet is recalling a large number (4.8 million,) of BlendJet 2s. Both of mine I found were included in the recall and both have been submitted for replacement.

BlendJet 2 and Orbiter Drinking Lid

You’ll need to take a picture of the base with the destroyed seal and serial number visible and they’ll ship you a replacement.

Sadly the replacement options do not match my lids (Lisa Frank, and Camo,) so I’m going to end up with a mismatched pair. Oh well, better than explosions.

Registering for a replacement takes about 5 minutes. Removing the silicone seal without cutting yourself on the blades takes about 2.

You can read about the recall on BlendJet.com or on the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Go ahead and get this done. I’ve had one battery overheat in my life and it happened while I was not paying any attention to it (it was on the charger.) It was quite the event.
