Intel and LG team up for Moorestown-based MID phone

Lg_logo The last time we heard about Intel and LG developing a MID/UMPC together was at CES 2008 (yes, 2008). It was called the XNote B831 and despite being put up for preorder a few weeks after it was first revealed, it never materialized.

So when my buddy John Oram from ITExaminer let me know that the two companies were teaming up again, this time on an unnamed Moorestown/Moblin v2 MID with cell phone capabilities and 3G connectivity courtesy of Ericsson, I couldn't help but take the news with a heaping handful of salt.

I want to believe that if Moorestown really hits the market like it's supposed to next year that the LG MID phone will be among the first crop of devices that consumers can actually buy (how many of the promised Menlow-based MIDs are readily available again?)  but . . . well . . . I really need to see it first. Seeing is believing, after all.
