At just $199, the 7e is going to compete head-to-head with Amazon's tablet offering, the Kindle Fire. In my opinion, though, you'll get more for your money with the 7e than the Fire. While the 1GHz single-core processor will be no match for the Kindle's dual-core one, the ViewPad offers more functionality, including front- and back-facing cameras, a microSD slot, and mini- and micro-USB ports. You can also connect it to your HDTV, thanks to the HDMI port.
As for software, the ViewPad comes preinstalled with most of Amazon's Android suite of apps, like the Amazon Appstore and the Kindle app.
It's certainly your choice; as for me, though, I'd throw my $199 towards Viewsonic instead, especially since you won't have to wait any longer than you would for the Fire.
