If you’re not a fan of stock Android, but you still like having the latest version running on your device, life can be tough sometimes. But luckily, if you’re an HTC fan with a relatively recent device, you can count on getting the Android Lollipop update within 90 days of the official release. (Assuming November 3 is the official release, and it’s seeming likely that it is, HTC fans should expect the update to start rolling out around the beginning of February, as long as carriers cooperate.)
This is according to several tweets from HTC execs, and the official HTC account itself:
@nikosteele Yes, however we have no official dates to share just yet. Stay tuned to our social channels for announcements.

@nickmgray We’re aiming to update the HTC One (M8) to Android 5.0 within 90 days of receiving the final software from Google. Stay tuned!

@imdiane This applies to the HTC One (M7) as well.
