As we know by now, the device launched with a 20MP back camera that the Taiwanese manufacturer touted as one of the best among all mobile phones, although users later discovered was lackluster at best. Luckily, the problems were purely software related, as the update released earlier this week fixed most of the issues that people had experienced (while still introducing other bugs, like normal).
RUUs function in much the same way as Nexus factory images – they allow you to update your phone with the latest software, essentially recovering your phone from anything you may have thrown at it before. However, it’s important to reiterate that this RUU only applies to the Sprint version of the phone – if you’ve got any other One M9, move along.
