Sprint HTC One M9 RUU now available to download from HTC

HTC One M9HTC has posted the full RUU file that contains the latest update for the Sprint-branded HTC One M9. This RUU, which is a massive 2GB, contains some very important bug fixes, including camera enhancements, thermal improvements, and a VoWifi 911 bug fix.

As we know by now, the device launched with a 20MP back camera that the Taiwanese manufacturer touted as one of the best among all mobile phones, although users later discovered was lackluster at best. Luckily, the problems were purely software related, as the update released earlier this week fixed most of the issues that people had experienced (while still introducing other bugs, like normal).

RUUs function in much the same way as Nexus factory images – they allow you to update your phone with the latest software, essentially recovering your phone from anything you may have thrown at it before. However, it’s important to reiterate that this RUU only applies to the Sprint version of the phone – if you’ve got any other One M9, move along.
