Our first DMCA complaint

So I’m rolling into work a bit late today – it’s day 2 of kids being out of school and I had to take the bike or just go ahead and sell it and decided since it was 74 and perfect weather it was more than time to get on the Yamaha. After a short ride and running into two reality TV stars in my parking lot I set down to check my emails and got a DMCA abuse complaint from Cloudflare referencing something in the forums.

The link is http://www.pocketables.com/forum/showthread.php?p=104239 and as far as I can tell all it does is reference this image here

This from a November 2017 article on the WordPress side of Pocketables. The forum thread is on Tapatalk… it’s also named forums.pocketables.com and not www.pocketables.com/forum. Different servers entirely. Playing around with the /forum/showthread it appears to show random images if you change the number around. Results of some ancient forum plugin it looks like.

That random image there evidently was meant to be included in the Azulle Byte 3 Plus or an Inspire review. It appears to be triggering Russian antipiracy bots to DMCA us… fun times. Edge of Tomorrow is a movie, damned good one if you haven’t seen it, distributed by Warner Brothers. And unless I’m missing anything has nothing whatsoever to do with us.

If anyone has any clues, let me know, otherwise I’m going to verify my backups for when our hosting provider doesn’t pay one bit of attention to the fact that it’s a fake complaint and shuts us down for no reason, because that’s the standard operating procedure these days.
