Russian botnets, WordPress issues, updates
We are currently in the middle of a botnet attacking the site, or so I’m told. Measures have been put in place to attempt to handle this but unfortunately someone set our DNS expire time up to two days, so life is terrible until ~3pmCST on Friday.
Besides that we also had a WordPress plugin break in a most unusual way. Investigating that but in the meantime our ultra-mobile compatibility is gone, oh well. During the investigation it somehow broke the goodandevo.net link. Trying to get it repaired while the site is slow as molasses isn’t a priority. It should be fixed next week. Go to pocketables in the meantime instead of goodandevo.net
We’re also supposedly on Cloudflare more or less now… the same CDN that ThePirateBay.se uses. I’m not so sure that’s a good idea, but considering the level of attacks going on against the site it seems like it’s an option.
Why attacks? Who knows. CG has a lot of properties, Pocketables is one of them. Maybe one of their other ones offended a script kiddie, maybe they insulted someone, maybe there’s something… maybe not.
We’ll see.
On another note, baby slept 11 hours last night and seems completely fine. Today’s her first day back in daycare (for a few hours,) so we’ll see how that goes.
