HTC EVO 3D bootloader expected to be unlocked in September
HTC has been "diligently working" on unlocking EVO 3D bootloader for the past few weeks and today released an update on its progress.
Beginning next month, the company will push a software update that supports bootloader unlocking to three phones: the global HTC Sensation, the T-Mobile Sensation, and the EVO 3D. Then in early September, the actual unlocking—currently being tested and expected to be "fully operational" by then—will hit the aforementioned trio before heading to other new and existing devices. HTC plans to update the community "about every few weeks as [they] make progress toward launch."
Assuming that HTC doesn't run into any roadblocks and Sprint doesn't cause any additional delays, this means that we'll be waiting for at least two more months for an officially unlocked bootloader. But with several temporary root solutions for the EVO 3D already available from Team Win and other devs, I know I'm not the only one thinking we'll see S-OFF much sooner than that.
