Samsung to release budget Q1 Ultra in UK

Samsung_logo_08I’m not convinced that the split keypad and slate-style form factor of the Samsung Q1 Ultra UMPC would appeal to the same audience fawning over the Asus Eee PC mini notebook, but an "education-focused" Ultra with a smaller hard drive and no cameras is heading for the UK in the next few weeks with hopes that it will. Priced at £399, the pared down Q1 Ultra (model name currently unknown) will be Samsung’s first shot at combating the "Eee effect."

There’s no mention of the processor so far, but the price point makes it pretty clear that the upcoming unit won’t have the same internals as the Q1 Ultra Premium. It will be running Vista, though.
