ZTE joining the Android camp with new QWERTY keyboard packing V9 MID

Zte_mid_v9

Most recently in the headlines for the unusual V7 MID running Maemo, China-based international telecoms manufacturer ZTE has now announced that it will throw its hat into the Android ring with its new V9, a MID with a 7-inch touch screen device and full sliding QWERTY keyboard. Barely anything else is known about the device apart from the fact that the company plans to release it at the end of the year in American, European, and Asian markets.

With a similar background to Huawei, maker of the S7, ZTE's new Android ambitions are further signs of the growing influence and popularity of Google's OS among Chinese companies large and small. Hopefully the V9 will be able to offer hardware to match the new breed of devices we are now seeing with the latest software married to powerful processors and feature sets. Hopefully ZTE won't keep us waiting long to find out the inside story on its new creation.
