RIM offering refurb PlayBooks for $150

Pb_02

So, you didn't quite feel like spending $199 for a BlackBerry PlayBook on Black Friday but you still want a discounted one, huh? Well, that's okay; it seems like RIM didn't want you to, anyway. The company from Waterloo is starting to sell refurbished units for a mere $150.

That's not even the best part of the whole deal, though. $150 is the price for the 16GB units, but every PlayBook is heavily discounted. The 32GB, for example, is $170. But the absolute best bang-for-the-buck offer coming from RIM is the one they have for the 64GB: $200

Wow! Even though the tablet has been through some hardships, you can't argue with a $200 Firefighter that has eight times the internal space as Amazon's tablet. RIM's also pushing out a desperately needed software update for the PlayBook soon, which will add native email, calendar, and contacts apps to the tablet.

If you're in the market for a tablet, I'd consider the PlayBook now. I don't see the price taking yet another dip anytime soon. This is a good deal by any standards, and the PlayBook isn't all that bad; it'll be even better after that software update, too.
