Shazam LyricPlay available in true stereoscopic 3D for HTC EVO 3D

It definitely doesn't seem like there are a lot of true 3D apps that are currently available for the HTC EVO 3D. Shazam, however, is trying to correct this problem, and in a really cool way.

LyricPlay is a new feature in the latest version of Shazam that lets you follow along with a song's lyrics in real time as you are listening to the song. To use this new feature, all you have to do is tag a song, watch for the LyricPlay icon, and then turn your phone  horizontally in landscape mode. (Yes, I know that the video above is of an iPhone, but this at least gives you a better idea of how this feature works.)

The killer part, however, is that the lyrics are displayed in stereoscopic 3D on the EVO 3D. It's really quite neat, as long as you're not prone to crossed eyes and headaches from the sudden 3D transition.

According to Shazam, LyricPlay is available for over 30,000 tracks, with more songs added each week. Interestingly enough, only about half of the songs I tested with this worked, but I'm sure it will get better as this feature matures.

LyricPlay is available in both the free and paid versions of Shazam, so you can try it out today. You know, this just might make me a convert from SoundHound!
