Good and EVO

Will the next HTC EVO be a quad-core LTE super-beast?

Htc-mobile-world-congress

While we generally try to avoid unsubstantiated rumors that have been pulled out of who-knows-where, a healthy dose of speculation every now and then isn't all bad. So let's commence: with word coming out that HTC might be just about ready to release the first quad-core smartphone, we can't help but wonder what's in store for the EVO line of devices.

According to some theorizing analysts at JPMorgan Chase, HTC will reveal a new phone called the Edge at the 2012 Mobile World Congress. In addition to being a quad-core monster, some speculate that the phone will have a 4.7-inch S-LCD2 display, an 8MP rear camera, a 720p-capable front-facing camera, and at least 1GB RAM. Not too bad!

If this turns out to be true, I can't wait to see what the next HTC EVO will be like. Historically, they're released in June, which is cutting it close to Sprint's projected goal of releasing a flagship 4G LTE-capable phone in the second half of 2012. So does this mean the next EVO will be a quad-core LTE device with a crazy-awesome screen and camera?

Of course, it's all speculation right now, which we don't like to do too often. HTC hasn't even hinted at a successor to the EVO 3D yet. But like I said: speculation can be fun. So go ahead and speculate away in the comments!
