Android Market/Google Play offering some great games for just $0.49

Gplay_logo_gAs most you already know, the Android Market is now known as Google Play. To celebrate its new title, Google is offering a healthy offering of games for the price of two gumballs.

Some of the heavy hitters like Electronic Arts' Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and Dead Space are present, while Gameloft is offering up Asphalt 6: Adrenaline and N.O.V.A. 2. Other top titles include Osmos HD, NFL Flick Quarterback, and World of Goo

Some of these apps still aren't worth their price, if you ask me, but most are worth way more than $0.49 and look a lot more attactive with their new temporary price tags. If you've had your eyes on any of these games but were too cheap to shell out the dough, then now's the time to buy. I grabbed NFS: Hot Pursuit myself. What did you get?

  • A little trigger happy on the numbers today… Whoops! I corrected that.

  • Some of the titles were available from Amazon’s free app of the day at some point (I sure wish there was way for the phone to know that an app was already “purchased” from one store to stop you from buying it from another), but I grabbed Osmos HD, Sprinkle, World of Goo, and Zookeeper DX from the sale today. Less than $2 for 4 games! This is a nice change from paying $6 for one game from the PS Store on my Sony Tablet P. It may not be a fair comparison, as something like Zookeeper is just a casual match-3 game, but I’m sticking with the Market (it’s going to take me a while to start saying Play).

Will this come to the HTC EVO 4G. Or will this be something else not coming to the best device that HTC put out.

  • It is on the market place. If you have an older market version, just manually update it yourself. That is what I did for my 3D. (Simply google it if you dont know how)

You can easily purchase and download the apps. It is not a phone exclusive offer. It is market-wide offer.

Be sure and grab the Swiftkey X Keyboard as well. It beats the pants off of Swype any day. And is an absolute steal at 49 centavos. I got it back during the 10 centavo sale a couple of months ago.

  • Hot Pursuit does not work on EVO VIEW. (has anyone found a fix?) Dead Space plays and looks great

Don’t forget to add a new widget for “Play Store” as the old “Market” widget is now a dead link.
