Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 delayed

Galaxy_tab_2

It's been about a month since we've reported on anything about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. But that doesn't mean it's not an awesome device: it simply means that there hasn't been any news.

Today, though, our drought of Galaxy Tab reporting is over. Unfortunately, it isn't good news. According to Computerworld, Samsung and Google are still working on the specialized version of Ice Cream Sandwich that will be running on the tablets. The company now says that both the 7- and 10-inch versions will ship at the end of April.

Now, you all know that I hate manufacturers' Android skins. All of them. Normally, they're just a minor annoyance that, with a root or a third-party launcher, can be fixed; here, however, there isn't even a chance to root or install a launcher yet! If skins start to cause product delays, then skins shouldn't be allowed anymore. Ice Cream Sandwich's UI rules are starting to cut down on such drastic customizations, but obviously something still needs to be done so this doesn't happen.

Luckily, the products will still be released at the end of this month. If you're looking to pick one up, you've got three and half weeks to wait yet.
